Obituary

A B Hanson, age 90 of Magnolia, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Wentworth Place in Magnolia.

A B was born December 18, 1926 to Fred and Louella (Wharton) Hanson. He served as a sergeant in the United States Army during and after World War 2, in the Philippines. When he returned to the states, he went to work for Arkansas Power and Light at the Harvey Couch Plant in Stamps and worked there for the next 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 55 years, Dorothy Marie (Baker) Hanson and brother, Bill Hanson of Stamps.

He is survived by his son, Mike Hanson and wife, Susan Hanson of Magnolia; brother, Jerry Hanson and wife, Margaret of Sealy, Texas; grandson, Mitchell Wayne Hanson and wife, Allyson of Springhill, AR; granddaughters, Jennifer Jackson and husband, Phillip and Jessie Watson and husband, Tyler, all of Magnolia; and two very wonderful great grandchildren, Mackenzie Marie Jackson and Jack Ryan Watson.

He attended the First United Methodist Church in Stamps and later in life moved to Magnolia and attended the First United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason in the Stamps Masonic Lodge and enjoyed repairing things, braiding leather and bream fishing.

He was a good son, brother, husband and daddy. It's often said any male can be a father, but it takes a man to be a Daddy. He was a great Daddy.

A private family service will be held. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, AR. Online registration is available at www.aosmithfuneralhome.com.
