Family and friends mourn the passing of Alyce L. Wootton. She was born Alyce Louise Gunn in Electric Mills, MS on March 23, 1923 and was deceased February 12, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Wilburn H. Wootton. She leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law Ronald and Valerie Wootton of Camano Island, WA; a grandson, Glenn Wootton of Magnolia, AR; a granddaughter, Tammy Payne of Commerce City, CO; four great grandsons, Cameron and Eli Wootton of Magnolia, AR; Tyler and Caleb Stuhldreier of Commerce City, CO, and a very special niece Beth Gullatt of Plano, TX. She was a meticulous homemaker, superb cook, and loved to sew and quilt. She worked outside of the home in Lewisville, AR at Turk's Pharmacy for many years. She also worked at Howmet and Firestone in Magnolia, AR. She lived in Buckner, AR from 1953 until she moved to Dudneywood Assisted Living in Magnolia, AR in January 2010 She resided there until December 2015 when declining health required relocation to Wentworth Place in Magnolia, AR. She enjoyed many happy years at Dudneywood and made many friends there among the residents and the staff. She was a resident at Wentworth for only two months but was quickly becoming friends with the staff and residents. Her family wishes to express their gratitude for the outstanding care she received in both facilities. Fortunately her final illness was short in duration. She received loving care in her last two days from Life Touch hospice. Donations to any of the organizations mentioned in lieu of flowers would be appreciated. No services are planned. Her cremains will be interred next to her loving husband in the Lakeside Cemetery, Stamps, AR. Arrangements made by Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR.
