Betty J. Drake, age 89, of Bradley, Arkansas went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 5, 2015. She was born December 30, 1925 in Bloomburg, Texas to John and Myrtle Pritchard. Betty Jo was a retired teacher, better k own to her students as "Ms. Drake". She was a devoted wife, mother, teacher, friend, and longtime member of the Bradley United Methodist Church. The family would like to especially thank the Serenity Hospice and their wonderful staff, especially Monique, whom we adopted as family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Millard Drake; son, David Drake; son-in-law, Phillip Kellogg.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Teresa Kellogg of Bradley, Arkansas; son, Thomas Yoder and wife Rebecca of Cotter, Arkansas; four grandsons, Owen Kellogg, Todd Yoder, Donald Yoder, and John Yoder; nephew, Ricky Kennedy and wife Sherry; great-nieces, Rebecca Kennedy and Amy Cannon and husband Shay; nephew, Richard Drake and wife Lisa; life long friend since high school, Nell "Snookie" Wellburn. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Bradley United Methodist Church in Bradley, Arkansas with Bro. John Braden and Bro. Gladney Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill cemetery in Bradley under the direction of A.O Smith Funeral Home.
