Mr. Calvin Ward, 83 of Stamps, AR died Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Homestead Nursing Home. He was the son of Tyree and Lucy Harris Ward was born January 9, 1932 in Emerson, AR.

Calvin was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. He was a self-employed pulpwood contractor, and he enjoyed drag racing cars, fishing, and hunting.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children: Emma Gonzales of Lancaster, CA, Calvin "Raybaby" Ward of Bryant, TX, Virginia (Dwight)Smith of Dallas, TX, Patsy Gail Sterling of Dallas, TX, Christie (Greg) Williams of Texarkana, AR, Paula (Ricky) Satterwhite of Stamps, AR, Toni(Eric) Turner of Mesquite, TX, J. C. Ward of Toledo, OH and Schina Willis of Hope, AR. A host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. His siblings John Ward and Wilson (Sudie) Ward of Stamps, AR, Arvester (Gladys) Ward of Tyler, TX, Linda Cooper of Emerson, AR and Christine Ward Hamilton of Milwaukee, WS. Two aunts Margie Ward of Magnolia, AR and Dossie Lee Williams of Emerson, AR; and one uncle Levi Ward of Dallas, TX. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special friend, Charlie Walker, and a very special person who remained a constant friend throughout his life

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR. Officiating will be Rev. Billy Williams. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps, AR. Under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday, January 8, 2016, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
