Carrie Thomas, servant, encourager, and godly mother extraordinaire, was born August 6, 1929 to Willie Moore and Clara Lowe. Her mother later married Elrie Morgan and Carrie became a Big Sister upon the birth of her two brothers, Joseph and James. After the death of their mother, she and her siblings were raised by a godly village of relatives that included the patriarch of the Lowe family, Joseph Lowe, and his wife Searcy in the Falcon community. Before blended families were recognized Carrie had the love of her siblings from the Morgan and Moore families. Sisters and Brothers who visited and communicated on a regular basis.

Carrie learned about the love of God and confessed her faith in Christ at an early age. She united with the Clevet Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Falcon, Arkansas and served faithfully; Ushering, member of the Missions Circle, and a choir member. Her heart for service began at an early age. Her ministry unfolded under the direction of the Holy Spirit and she began to assist men and women in the community with paperwork, applications, and documents that needed completion all without a formal education. She had a sweet spirit and a laid-back charm.

Over 71 years ago, she married Minor Thomas, a young man recently discharged from the Infantry in the U.S. Army. They remained in the Falcon community and to this union five children were born.

Her home became a place of love and acceptance. She never sided against a person but saw the good in all. In crisis situations, she would encourage you by saying "Do the best you can." Most people may not know but Carrie had a great sense of humor. Laughter was entrenched in the Thomas home.

For over 10 years Carrie worked in the cafeteria at Oak Grove High School in Rosston, Arkansas. She became a Home Health Aid in 1982 with the Southwest Arkansas Development Council. She provided service to patients in and around the Stamps area for over 30 years. Carrie never stopped having a heart for service and never complained even while struggling with the effects of Loew Body Dementia and Parkinson. She departed this life on January 17, 2018.

Carrie was preceded in death by her Mother and Fathers; her sisters: Loy Solomon, Minerva Thompson, and Willie Bea Woods; brothers: John Moore, W. T. Moore, Calvin Moore, and Willie Earl Morgan; three grandsons: Timothy Rodgers, Stacy Thomas, and Shannon Thomas.

She leaves to celebrate her life Minor Thomas, her husband, of Falcon, Arkansas; her children: Martha Rodgers of Chicago, Illinois; Eddie (Urunda) Thomas of Hope, Arkansas; Charles (Mary) Thomas of Tyler, Texas; David Thomas of Stamps, Arkansas; Annette (Willie) Thomas-Jones of Little Rock, Arkansas. Brothers: Joseph Morgan of Wichita Kansas; James Morgan of Los Angeles, California; and Bruce Newton of St. Louis, Missouri. Sister: Lee Versie Madison of Stamps, Arkansas. Two godsons: Pastor James Jackson and Frank Jackson. In-laws: Maggie Adams of Willingboro, New Jersey; and Minnie, and Jimmie (Lisa) Thomas of Wichita, Kansas. Her Caregiver for 8 ½ years, Amanda Carroll, of Stamps, Arkansas; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of cousins who loved her.
