On August 17, 2019, Carroll Oneal Scarbrough, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at his home in Lewisville, Arkansas, at the age of 83.

Mr. Scarbrough was born August 1, 1936 to J.O. and Edith nee' Lee Scarbrough in Lubbock County, Texas.  In 1966 he and his family moved from west Texas to the Texarkana area.  In 1974 the Scarbroughs moved to Lewisville, Arkansas where he purchased a dry goods store and began to be a part of the community.  In 1993 he and his wife, Wanda, retired to enjoy their hobbies of fishing & gardening, floating the Red River.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dirk Oneal Scarbrough, his parents, J.O. and Edith Scarbrough, one brother, Billy Joe Scarbrough and one sister, Delores Jennings.

He leaves behind his wife of sixty years, Wanda Akin Scarbrough, two daughters and sons in law, Teresa and Gary Strange and Jo and Brent Ratton.  In addition, four grandchildren, John Houk (Misti), Dustin Ratton (Amber), Shea Ratton, Ainslee Muldrow(Pierce), six great grandchildren, dear and precious friends, Fred Harris and Carolyn Fuller and numerous other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Bro. Scott Jackson and Eddie Drake officiating.  Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps.  Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the Chapel.

Honoring Mr. Scarbrough as pallbearers will be Steve Waters, Roy May, Steve Davis, Jimmy Rash, Hershel Kitchens and Deryl Jones.
