Obituary

Deacon Casey Johnson, Sr., 76 of Lewisville, AR, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Magnolia, AR. He was born March 22, 1940 in Lewisville, AR to Howard and Martha Wise Johnson.

On October 21, 1961 he married Gladis Strickland of Canfield, AR and to this union was born 3 sons and 3 daughters. On Oct. 21, 2015 they celebrated 54 years of wedded bliss.

He served as a deacon at St. James Baptist Church in Lewisville for 50 years. In 2007, he retired from Arkansas State Highway & Trans- portation Dept. after 16 years of service. He also retired from the timber contractor for 35 years.

Survivors include: his wife, Gladis Johnson; four children: Elder Michael (LeShan) Johnson of Magnolia, AR, Mrs. Teresa (Ricky) Perry of Elisabeth City, NC, Casey (KaTina) Johnson of Atlanta, GA and Tony (Kimberly)Johnson of Cordova, TN; seven grandchildren; Lesheia R. Johnson, Taimia Johnson, Zakkiyya Johnson, Ashley J. Perry, Baili' K. Johnson, Brandon I. Johnson and Devin T. Johnson; four sisters; Ruthie and Rose Johnson of Memphis, TN, Louisa Smith of Augusta,
AR, and Inetta Hostler Pine Bluff, AR, three brothers: Rev. Claude Johnson of Sidney, OH, Luther Johnson of Anna, TX and Rev. Roy Johnson of San Antonia, TX, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

On Friday, April 15, 2916 when Casey Johnson, Sr. departed this life to be with the Lord, a grand reunion was held as he reunited with his daughter, Brenda Faye Johnson, his parents, his brothers; George L. Johnson, Howard Johnson, Jr., Charlie Johnson and Bobby Roy Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Old Town Cemetery in Lewisville, AR under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.
Officiating will be Rev. Roderick Trotter.

A special Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 22, 2016 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at St. James Baptist Church (Hwy 82 West), Lewisville , AR. Opportunities of expressions, encouragements, sympathy and the last respects will be allowed during that time.

Visitation will be Friday, April 22, 2016 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
