Cecil Wayne Gaines, age 81, of Stamps, Arkansas passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024, at his residence. Cecil was born on April 2, 1943, in Stamps, Arkansas to Paul and Hazel Gaines. He loved all things outdoors including cutting firewood, sitting in the swing & working in the garden. He was a man of many trades who could often be found working in his shop. He loved westerns and reading. Most of all he loved his wife, children, grandchildren and his great grandbaby.

Left to cherish the memories of Cecil are his daughters, Stacy Gaines of Benton, Arkansas and Tracey (Chris) Reed of Stamps, Arkansas; son, Steven Gaines of Cocoa Beach, Florida; grandsons, Hayden Halbert of Benton, Arkansas, Devin Halbert of Benton, Arkansas, and Landon Halbert of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Baker Gaines of Benton, Arkansas; granddaughter, Lexi Bright of Benton, Arkansas; great- grandson, Ashton Halbert of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and numerous friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Hazel Gaines; his wife of 58 years, Vickie Gaines; sister, Era Nell Miller; nephew, Tony Cassel; and his cousin that was more like a brother, George Gaines.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday November 19, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at A O Smith Funeral Chapel, Stamps, Arkansas.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday November 20, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at A O Smith Funeral Chapel, Stamps, Arkansas with Bro. Mike Turner officiating. Interment to follow at Sardis Cemetery, Stamps, Arkansas. Services under the direction of A O Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, Arkansas.

Honoring Cecil as pallbearers are Hayden Halbert, Devin Halbert, Landon Halbert, Baker Gaines, Kobe Jones and Bryson Young.
