Obituary

Clifford Crockett Russell, Jr., age 81 of Stamps, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Mr. Russell was born July 26, 1932, in Annona, Texas, to Mary Brown and Clifford Russell, Sr. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a degree in Education. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army. He taught High School Science for three years in Stamps and later went to work with Bodcaw Insurance Company in Stamps. Mr. Russell owned and operated the NAPA Auto Parts Store for several years. In his retirement years, he built and ran chicken houses at the family farm in Falcon. His most enjoyable times were spent at the farm in Falcon with his sons and grandchildren, hunting, working the cows, cutting hay and just hanging out at the farm house.

Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice Ann Russell; and brother, Ed Russell and sister-in-law, Helen Russell.

He is survived by two sons, William Clifford Russell of Falcon, AR, and Robert Brown Russell and wife, Tammie of Stamps, AR; brother, Bill Russell and wife, Brenda of Stamps, AR; grandchildren, Chris Russell, Kathryn Russell, Amelia Russell, Luke Russell and wife, Brittany; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held at 2 pm Friday, January 10, 2014, at Falcon Cemetery with Bro. Mike Turner officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Thursday, January 9, 2014, at the Smith Funeral Home in Stamps. Online registration is available at www.aosmithfuneralhome.com.
