David Earl Fultz, age 64 of Plain Dealing, Louisiana passed in peace on July 22, 2018 at home surrounded by family.

David was the eldest son of 10 children. He was born on November 17, 1953, in Coalinga, California to Othel Earl Fultz of Garland, Arkansas and Jo Ann Phillips Fultz of Texarkana, Arkansas. David was preceded in death by his parents, Othel and Joann Fultz; one brother, Adam Fultz; one nephew, Brandon Fultz; one niece, Jennifer Fultz Blanc and her son (TZ) Zdor Blanc III. He is survived by three sisters: Maryann Fultz Cole (Walter Lee "Uncle Louie"), Doris Fultz Sanders, and Myra Fultz Goss (John David "Uncle Doonie"); five brothers: Michael Fultz (Bonny), Donny Fultz (Jan), Jesse Fultz, Phillip Fultz (Erica), and John Fultz (Angela); one son Matthew David Fultz and grandson Matthew Blaine Fultz; one daughter, Angela Adams (Terry); two granddaughters: Cheridy Adams and Chasity Adams and great-grandson Grayson Bianco, as well as a whole host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

The family would like to thank Deirkson Hospice for their services; it is a wonderful company whose nurses, Ms. Andy and Ms. Wendy were always very attentive and committed to daddy's care. Magnolia Home Health, Ms. Kim made sure all was taken care of as long as they could. Springhill Medical Center; doctors, nurses, and staff for taking great care of David throughout the years, as well as comfort and understanding with the family. A special thanks to Dr. Vincent Lococo and Dr. Manish Dhawan for their years of dedication, optimism and treatments; he greatly respected your opinions. All the family and friends for your thoughts, prayers and visits; they are all greatly appreciated.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Walkers Chapel in the Mott Community outside of Plain Dealing, Louisiana with Bro. Wayne Craig officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes, Inc. of Stamps, Arkansas. Visitation will start Wednesday night at 6:00 pm until Midnight at Walkers Chapel in Mott.

Pallbearers will be Jason Vaughan, Joey Fultz, Jeff Byrd, Jeff Richardson, Michael Arnold and Billy Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mr. Johnny Wilkins, Mr. Jerry Gibbs, Mr. Randy Harris, Mr. Ricky Hays, Mr. James Vaughan, Mr. Chucky Demoss and Mr. Rory Alison. Each of these gentlemen holds an extra special place in the family's heart whether from recent visits, old friendships or close work affairs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are asked to be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital in Memphis, TN to help aid in the care of the children and families there, and for continued research for a cure for cancer. David often said that is wasn't fair for the children to have cancer. He said he was lucky to have lived a good life and that he could not imagine the pain those children face as just babies dealing with cancer. He would rather your money go to help with the research and care for those children and families. That's just the way he was, always giving to others, especially children. He enjoyed helping others; it made him feel good to see them smile.
