David Ray Pickett, age 71, of Taylor, Arkansas passed away Monday, October 27, 2014 at his home. Mr. Pickett was born on July 25, 1943 in Walker Creek to Todd and Maurice Higgins Pickett. Mr. Pickett loved playing dominoes, tinkering with different projects, and was an avid outdoorsman, loving to both fish and hunt.

Mr. Pickett was preceded in death by his wife Dianne Pickett; parents, and one sister, Sarah Leonard.

He is survived by three daughters, Renae Strong of Allen, Texas, Becky Morris of Lufkin, Texas, and Melanie Reed and husband Ryan of Texarkana, Texas; honorary daughter, Shannon Huffstetler; and eight grandchildren, John Anagnostopulos, Jordan Long, Jared Farrell, Emily Farrell, Joshua Long, Luke Reed, Lily Reed, and Shay Strong.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Beacon Baptist Church with Bro. Kerry Easley officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery in Taylor under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home of Stamps. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Taylor.
