Obituary

David Wayne Sullivan, age 73, passed away on Saturday, May 23,2026 in Texarkana, Texas. He was born on July 24, 1952, in Bastrop, LA to Johhny Sullivan and Mary Boyd. On November 14,1978 he married the love of his life, Lee, and went from being a daddy of one daughter, to a daddy of four daughters and a son and never missed a beat. David was a devoted Christian, husband, dad, papaw to many kids, that he helped his wife, Lee to babysit for many years. David was a hardworker in the oilfield, as a mechanic and truck driver. He was a carpenter and "jack of all trades.' He was the hands and feet that worked endlessly to take care of his wife until the last few days of his life. David liked a clean house, full belly and puppy lovin' from his Baby Girl. Ordained into the ministry in 1989, David would be known for his "amens" and "preach it-brother" in church! Known for being headstrong, loving, and always willing  to help anyone. David had that look about him that was intimidating, especially to a boy that took a liking to one of his girls. But once he was known, he was a gentle soul.  He loved the Lord above all and showed it in his everyday life. David was a shining example of what a Christian husband, father, and friend should be. He will be missed by many friends and family.

David is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Lee; brother, Danny Miller; son, Glen East of Springhill, LA; daughters, Trina Sullivan of Bastrop, LA, Sherry (Tommie) Sanders of Springhill, LA, Debbie (Charles) Wooley of West Monroe, LA, Konnie (Russ) Campbell, of Magnolia, AR; sister, Sue Franklin of Tullos, LA; grandchildren, Trinity and Tristan Sanders, Felysha, Ashley and Miranda Simoneaux, Lindsey Dispenza, Kasie Schrock, Josh Skipper, Andrew and Patrick East, Halee Colvin and Dylan Campbell; twenty-three great grandchildren with two on the way; close friends, Tim Taylor, Garth Collier, Gladney Hunt, Debra Phillips, Rennette Paul; and his special pet, Baby Girl.

Preceding him in death was his parents; infant son (1969), brother, Johnny Sullivan; sister, Thelma Garbrecht; and grandchildren, Aaron Simoneaux and Corey East.

The Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at A O Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Taylor, Arkansas. Officiants for the service will be Bro. Gladney Hunt and Bro. Garth Collier.
