Dr. Donald Raymond Whitehead, age 66 of Magnolia, AR, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015. Dr. Whitehead was born February 13, 1949 in Walkers Creek, AR to Clemon Quentin Whitehead and Mary Helen Nabors Whitehead. Dr. Whitehead practiced veterinary medicine in Magnolia for forty years and was a member of the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association. He served as a past president and was voted Veterinarian of the Year in 1998. He was a member of and served as national delegate to the American Veterinary Medical Association for twenty years. He was a charter member of Holly Mound Land Company Duck Hunting Club, an avid duck hunter, and a board member of Delta Water Fowl.

Dr. Whitehead was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Helen Collinsworth.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Whitehead of Magnolia, AR; two sons, Robert Whitehead (Lynea) of St. Louis, MO and Josh Hillery of Prescott, AR; two daughters, Melonie Himel (Shane) of Sulphur, LA and Susannah Broome of Magnolia, AR; two brothers, Derial Whitehead (Sue) of Cookeville, TN and Mike Whitehead (Debbie) of Walkers Creek, AR; and four grandchildren, Ty Himel, Garrett Himel, Henry Broome, and Ella Ray Whitehead.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Forrest Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Jonathon Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow at Forrest Grove Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, AR. Online registration is available at www.aosmithfuneralhome.com.
