Doris Marie Owen Millican, age 92 of Stamps, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.  She was born on May 8, 1927, in Stamps, Arkansas to Mary Emma Kitchens Owen and James Arnold Owen.  In 1942, Doris married the love of her life, Doyle Roland Millican.  Doris was a faithful member of the Stamps Church of Christ.  Doris retired from Alan White Company after 48 years of service as Supervisor of the sewing department.

Doris was a talented artist who enjoyed sewing, quilting, and ceramics.  She was famous for her chocolate pie and chicken & dumplings!  She enjoyed traveling with her family through Europe, visiting Disney World and the beaches of Florida, and traveling across the beautiful state of Arkansas. Her favorite vacation spot was the White River, where she enjoyed spending quality time with her loved ones.

Survivors include her children, Linda Ann Sparrow and Jerry Don Millican (Polly) and daughter-in-law Donna Millican.  Grandchildren: Wayne Millican (Angie), Lin Schuster (Dee), Shannon Bloesch (Mike), Tonya Millican, McRae Sparrow, Lindsay Nutt (Stephen). Great Grandchildren: Kristin Fitzgibbon (Brian); Jessalyn Otwell (Luke), Katie and Olivia Schuster; Sydney, Simon, and Sawyer Bloesch; Katherine Sparrow; Christian, Addison, and Aviana Millican; and Luke and Lainey Nutt. Great-Great Grandchildren: Kaelin Cunningham and Annie, Ruby & Judd Otwell. Siblings: Helen Turnage (Floyd), Delilah Minter, Buddy Owen (Virginia). Numerous nieces and nephews as well as countless special friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Doyle Roland Millican, son William (Bill) Millican, grandson Michael Don Millican, son-in-law Donald (Mokey) Sparrow, sister Louise Patterson, and brother JW Owen.

The family would like to thank special friends, Geraldine Webb and Ethel Roy, for their love, dedication, and care of our mother and grandmother over the past five years.  The family is also thankful for the Hospice of Texarkana and The Waters of Stamps.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 9:30 am with services following at 10:30 am at the A.O. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps.  Eulogies will be delivered by Mickey May and Jake Faulkner. Graveside burial service at Lakeside Cemetery to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the Millican family requests donations be made to the Lakeside Cemetery Association.
