Dorothy Jean Cheatham, 93, of Stamps, Arkansas passed away Sunday August 11, 2024, at Serenity Gardens, Deer Park, Texas. Dorothy was born to Oscar and Loree Teague on March 12, 1931, in Stamps, Arkansas. She was a hospital heart saver, known for her skilled CPR. Dorothy was a member of the Order Of The Eastern Star, holding various positions that included Worthy Matron. Dorothy was a member of The First Baptist Church of Stamps. During her younger years, Dorothy was the "go to" of home perms.  Many friends, family and neighbors counted on her for their perms. She enjoyed baking, canning and was a wonderful cook.  Dorothy worked during high school & continued throughout her life. Some of the most notable employment was at Jitney Jungle, Knights Store, selling Avon & then eventually to Alan White where she started going to school for her RN degree. Dorothy's lifelong dream was to become a nurse. She worked at the Hospital in Lewisville, Hope & then Wadley in Texarkana. Dorothy will be missed by many.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Wanda Cheatham Smallwood of LaPorte Texas; a brother, Oscar Ray Teague (Cindy) of Bella Vista, Arkansas; grandchildren, Steven M. Richardson (Stacy), and Neelie Walker (Michael); great grandchildren, Cole, Amber, Kate, Elizabeth, Heather, Stephanie and Zachary; six great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jackie Teague; and a host of family and friends throughout the years.

Preceding her in death was her spouse, J.W. Cheatham; her parents, Oscar and Loree Teague; her son, Jerry Wayne Cheatham; her brothers, James Walter Teague and Bill Teague; and her son in law Vernon Smallwood.

Visitation will be held on Friday August 16, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at A O Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, Arkansas.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday August 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at A O Smith Funeral Chapel, Stamps, Arkansas with Brother Mike Turner officiating, interment to follow at Lakeside cemetery. Services are under the direction of A O Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, Arkansas.
