Dorothy M. Whaley, age 94 of the Bussey Community, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born July 24, 1923 in the Oak Grove Community, south of Stamps, to the late Earl C. and Ada Allen.

Mrs. Whaley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Gerald Whaley; one sister; and three brothers.

She is survived by one son, Stephen Whaley of Little Rock, AR; one daughter-in-law, Patty Whaley of Maumelle, AR; two granddaughters, Jennifer Whaley of Atlanta and Cathi Whaley of Little Rock; one grand-son-in-law, Ryan Mooney of Little Rock; two great grandchildren, Carter and Linus Mooney of Little Rock; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was a life-long member of Unity Methodist Church in Bussey, AR. She loved her God, her family, her church and her community. In the words of a dear friend, 'her obituary has been written by the way she lived, her strong Christian faith, her concern for and service to others and her dedication to her family, church and community.'

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Unity Methodist Church, Hwy 371 S, north of Taylor, AR with Rev. Wayne Edwards officiating. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. before the service at the church. Interment will follow at Sharman Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR, Thomas Street location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Methodist Church or to Arkansas Hospice.
