Douglas McArthur "Duck" Blake, 72 of Dallas, TX. Formerly of Laneburg, AR. Passed away December 1st at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, TX.
He was born October 15, 1942 to Matthew and Nobie Hall Blake in Laneburg, AR., the youngest of eleven children.
At an early age, he united with the New Hope Baptist Church in Falcon, AR. and attended Oak Grove School in Rosston, AR. He was employed with Hardy Nix Plumbing Company in Camden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Lula Mae Blake and Mary Nell Newman. Five brothers; Temore, Willie, Earnest, Johnny, and Dunzer Lee Blake.
Survivors include; four sisters; Mrs. Lydia Smiley of Camden, AR., Mrs. Corine Baker of Texarkana, AR., Mrs. Ocie Mae Gulley, and Mrs. Mattie Palms both of Dallas, TX. One brother; Ervin Jake Blake, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 6th, at 1:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR., with burial to follow in the Clevet Springs Cemetery in Falcon, AR. Under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Inc. of Stamps, AR., officiating will be Rev. Tommy Law.
Visitation Friday 5-6:p.m. at the funeral home.
