Dwayne "Whitey" Whitehead, age 79, of Taylor, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at this home.  He was born June 23, 1940 in Taylor, Arkansas to Needham Aubrey Whitehead and Cora Smith.  He was a member of the Canfield Deer Club and Ironworkers Local Union.  He was an avid outdoorsman where he loved hunting, fishing and gardening.  Dwayne was a talented builder, he constructed the home where he and Phyllis raised their family and also constructed the second home where they both retired to on Lake Earling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis Beasley Whitehead.

Mr. Whitehead is survived by two sons, Samuel T. Whitehead of Taylor, AR and Jeffery D. Whitehead of Nash, TX; two daughters, Donna J. Krzastek and husband, Stephen John of Chapel Hill, NC and Pamela K. Lytle of Mesquite, TX; one sister, Martha Morgan and husband Carl of Shreveport, LA; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Graveside services will be held 12PM, Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Taylor Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Gladney Hunt officiating.  Visitation will be held from 6pm-8pm Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Taylor Chapel and also 9am-11am on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Taylor Chapel before service.

Honoring Mr. Whitehead as pallbearers will be Chase Whitehead, Greg Williams, Zac McConnell, Brandon Dabbs, Lynn Knight, Mitch Haddox and David Keck.
