Edwin Alan Colvin, age 53 of Taylor, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at his home. Mr. Colvin was born July 25, 1961 in Magnolia, Arkansas. He was an avid outdoorsman, long time baseball coach for the summer ball program in Taylor, and a long-time supporter of Taylor Tiger Athletics. Mr. Colvin was a Razorback fan, a member of the 1983 SAU World Series baseball team, and played quarterback for Bradley High School. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Taylor.
Mr. Colvin was preceded in death by his father, Larry Colvin.
He is survived by his wife of thirty two years, Mitzi Colvin of the home; mother, Patsy Colvin of Taylor, AR; son, Lance Edwin Colvin of Taylor, AR; daughter, Shelby Lann Colvin of Little Rock, AR; father and mother in-law, James and Nelda Barnett of Springhill, LA; brother-in-law, Mike Barnett and wife, Shirley; brother, Larry Scott Colvin and wife, Cathy of Walkers Creek, AR; two sisters, Kim Ward and husband, Ricky of Canfield, AR and Kelli Hays and husband, Glenn of Bradley, AR; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Taylor with Bro. Chris Lucy, Bro. Randy Wilson, and Coach Robby Frizzell officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2015 at the church.
