Era Jean Gooch, age 87 of Texarkana, Texas formerly of Magnolia, Arkansas, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017. Mrs. Gooch was born September 9, 1929 in Columbia County to Leon and Pearl Martin.

Mrs. Gooch was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thurston Gooch; two brothers, Paul King and Jesse Lee; and one great-great grandchild.

She is survived by two sons, Terry Gooch of Magnolia, AR and Tommy Gooch and wife, Ginger of Texarkana, AR; two daughters, Anita Segraves of Marshall, TX and Lou Johnson also of Marshall; three sisters, Linda Rogers and husband, Horace of Shelbyville, TN; Merlice Munds and husband, Sherman of Blanchard, LA; and Barbara Perry and husband, Jessie of Huntland, TN; four grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Waldo, AR. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps.
