Erma Vernell Aldridge, age 105, of Waldo Arkansas entered Heaven's Gate into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, May 7, 2026. She was born to Clarence and Evie Knighton on July 17, 1920, in Stamps, Arkansas. An exceptionally smart and loving lady that saw many events in her lifetime of 105 years. She was blessed to enjoy being a homemaker. Erma enjoyed hobbies such as crocheting, quilting, sewing, painting and woodworking. She loved her family most of all.
Survived by 2 sons, Albert (Becky) Aldridge of Athens, TX, and Robert Joe Aldridge of Waldo, AR; 1 daughter, Mary (R.B.) Strange of Waldo, AR; A special niece of daughter status, Donna Beets of Kilgore, TX; grandchildren, Brian and Teresa Strange of Farmersville, TX, Mike and Trudy Strange of Waldo, AR, Mark (Laurie) Aldridge of Whitehouse, TX, Lisa (Chris) Ochoa of Flint, TX, Autumn Aldridge of Colorado, Anthony (Erzseke) Aldridge of Aledo, TX, and Chandra (John) White of Texas; numerous great and great great grandchildren; and her loving caregiver Joyce Hardwell.
Preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Evie Knighton; her loving husband, Elmer Aldridge; son, Ellis Aldridge, brothers, Keith and Clarence Homer Knighton; sisters, Evelyn Rogers, Thelma Wright, Nada Clements, Alice Jean Young and Ola Hooper.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 11:00 am at Mt. Vernon Church 560 Columbia Road 54. Waldo, AR 71770. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service.
Funeral services are under the direction of A O Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, Arkansas.
