Obituary

Esterree Lee Alford, age 83 of Bradley, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the North Okaloosa Medical Center in Crestview, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 29, 1931 in Lafayette County, Arkansas to Floyd Rayford Lee and Celie Smith Lee. Mrs. Alford attended Bradley High School where she loved playing basketball and graduated in 1949. She was a life-long resident of Bradley, Arkansas, working at Kennedy's Grocery Store and served as the Director of the Senior Citizen's Center for many years. She attended the United Methodist Church in Bradley were she taught Sunday School and shared her knowledge of the Bible. Mrs. Alford was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to quilt and read. She also loved major league baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal's fan.

Mrs. Alford was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Billie Hinds and Mildred Hinds; and brother, Floyd Rayford Lee, Jr.

She is survived by her children; Larry Alford and wife, Karen of Las Cruces, NM; Kathy Alford Fleming and husband, Don of Crestview, FL; James Alford and wife, Stacie of Bradley, AR; and Wayne Alford and wife, Cyndi also of Bradley, AR; grandchildren, Michael Alford and wife, Courtney of Galveston, TX; Kristin Alford Smith and husband, Matt of Sugarland, TX; Erin Fleming Cox and husband, Will of Reston, VA; Lesley Fleming Gaines of Pensacola, FL; Holly Fleming of Reston, VA; Katie Alford of Bradley, AR; Randy Alford of Bradley, AR; and Nicole Alford Thebeau and husband, Jeff of Springhill, LA; twelve grandchildren, Mayson Cox, Gracie Cox, Jaydon Gaines, Ruston Gaines, Drew Thebeau, Ember Thebeau, Chance Thebeau, Allison Smith, Emily Smith, Nathaniel Olesinski, Hunter Gifford and Dylan Alford.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the State Line Baptist Church with Rev. John Braden officiating. Interment will follow at State Line Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Bradley, AR. Online registration is available at www.aosmithfuneralhome.com.
