Obituary

Florene (Lee) Newton, 78, of Rosston, AR passed away Monday, October 5, 2015, at Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana. Mrs. Newton was born September 2, 1937 to Buck Obern and Margie Marzelle (Glascow) Lee.

Mrs. Newton was retired from Texarkana National Bank with 28 years of service. She was also a poultry farmer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church North Lewisville. She enjoyed cannining, crocheting, making Christmas candy, and most of all being a "Nanny".

Mrs. Newton is preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Margie Otrene Lee.

She is survived by her sons Rodney Newton of Rosston, AR, Richard Newton of Murfreesboro, AR, Robert Newton and his wife Angela of Lewisville, AR: daughter Dianne Fish and husband David of Sarepta, LA; a sister Obalene Christie and her husband Malvin of Lewisville, AR; grandchildren, Jeremy Newton, Chris Newton, Aaron Newton, Dwayne Newton,Kelli Fincher, Shelli Grady, and Miranda Green and husband John David. She is also survived by great grandchildren Corey Grady, Jacob Grady, Gage Green, McKinsy Green, Cylas Newton, and Cameron Bano. Survivors also include two step grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and a ton of friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 8 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lane Gardner officiating, assisted by Bro. Kenneth Bobo. Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 6:00P.M. – 8:00P.M. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Heart Association or to First Baptist Church of North Lewisville.
Honoring Mrs. Newton as her pallbearers will be Michael Griffin, Kolt Beckham, Richard Glasscock, Jack Mitchel, Sam Adkinsson, Terry Lee, And Travis Lee: Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Bingham, Gerald Lynn and Mike Dees.
