Frank S. Wells, passed away Palm Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Shreveport LA. Frank was born June 17,1927, in Imboden Arkansas to Frank Stuart and Audrey Morris Wells. Frank served in the US Navy in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii at the end of World War II. On October 3, 1948, Frank married the love of his life and high school sweetheart Ann Scantland. Married for 72 years Ann and Frank made their home in Lewisville Arkansas where Frank managed the Scantland Dairy and owned and managed Wells Feed and Seed. Frank served Lafayette County and Lewisville Arkansas as a volunteer firefighter. He also aided his community and church in numerous ways serving on various boards and committees. Frank and Ann were avid Bridge players and they regularly hosted a Couples Bridge Club.
Frank is survived by a son Dr. F. Stuart "Doc" (Susan)Wells of Cookeville, TN, daughter Mari Wells (Paul) Simons of Shreveport, LA granddaughters, Elizabeth (Jason) Boitnott of Shreveport, Whitney Wells of Cookeville, TN and Lisa Grant, grandson Nick (Jessica) Simons of Shreveport and 5 great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by a sister Kathleen Heath of Warwick, RI, and a brother John Wells, of Hammond, LA, 3 sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be conducted by Brother Ron Eldridge on April 15, 2023, at Noon at the Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville Arkansas under the direction of A O Smith Funeral Home of Stamps, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church of Lewisville, AR, or the Excellence in MIS Scholarship (Grunwald – Wells Family Scholarship) at Tennessee Tech University, TTU Box 1915, Cookeville, TN 38505 which was created in his honor
