Obituary

George William Jackson, age 81 of Stamps, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at his home. Mr. Jackson was born November 17, 1935 in Lewisville, Arkansas to Dufer and Ina Jackson. He was a member of Stamps United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School. He was active in the Boney Methodist Men's Bible Class. Mr. Jackson was a member of the National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and watching his four grandsons grow into fine Christian young men.

Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Martha Ann Clardy and husband, John Clardy.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Joan Jackson of Stamps, AR; one son, William Douglas Jackson and wife, Sher of Redwater, TX; two daughters, Elizabeth Diane Jackson of Fayetteville, AR and Patricia Kaye Loyed and husband, Eddie of Stamps, AR; four grandsons, Tyler Edward Loyed, William Thomas Jackson, Nicholas Seth Loyed, and Nathan Douglas Jackson; two nieces, Lisa Clardy and Anita Clardy; sister-in-law, Jane Pedraza and children; and a number of family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR with Rev. John Noggle officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville, AR. Visitation will be held from noon until service time on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stamps United Methodist Church or St. Judes Children's Hospital.
