George Lee Morgan

February 9, 1947 – August 8, 2021

Mr. George Lee Morgan, 74 of Stamps, Arkansas passed away Sunday at a Texarkana Texas Hospital Sunday, August 8, 2021.

Mr. Morgan was born February 9, 1947 to the late Mr. George Louis Morgan and Mrs. Cora Lee Newton-Langston in Falcon, Arkansas.

He was employed as a Correctional Officer at Bowie County Correctional Facility in Texarkana, Texas until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his maternal and paternal grandparents, a son, Terry Tyrone Cooper, one brother, Arthur Lee Morgan and sister Louraine Williams.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mrs. Dorothy Cooper-Morgan, one daughter, Mrs. Nikkie Nacole Moore and her husband Daniel.  Four brothers, Robert Lee Morgan of Stamps, Arkansas, Artis Lee Morgan and his wife Bobbie of Hope, Arkansas, Bennie Lee Langston and Troy Lee Langston of Michigan.  Four Sisters, Jewell Langston of Prescott, Arkansas, Louvella Jones of Lewisville, Arkansas, Dorothy Lee Brown and her husband, Charlie of Lewisville, Arkansas and Clemetine Howell and her husband Edward of Hope, Arkansas.  He also had four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren as well as a large number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday August 21, 2021 at the Greenville Missionary Baptist Church 234 West First Street, Stamps, Arkansas where the pastor, Dr. Neich Robinson will serve as Officiant and Eulogist.

There will be a public visitation held on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home Chapel, 415 East First Street, Stamps, Arkansas.

Because of CDC guidelines from COVID, all who intend to attend will be required to wear a mask and adhere to current social distancing guidelines.
