Mr. George Richard Gaines was born June 11, 1933 in Lewisville, AR to the late Richard E. Gaines and Vila Gaines. He departed this life on
Thursday, March 9, 2017 at his residence in Stamps, AR.

George Richard Gaines and Lillian Mack-Davis was united in marriage June 9, 1978. Mr. George Richard Gaines was an Army Veteran, a devoted husband, son, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed fishing and garden.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian Gaines; one sister Bernice Sears and one son Curtis (Qubie) Davis.

George "Brother" Gaines leaves to cherish his memories: two sons Robert (Connie) Gaines of Lewisville, AR, Sidney (Shelia) of Los Angeles, CA; six daughters Helen Hamilton, Josie Hester, Kathleen Cummings, Emma (Larry) Cooks all of Stamps, AR, Doris (Artric) Shelton
and Ruby (Kenneth) Hensley of Lawton, OK; a host of grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephew, cousin, and friends. Brother in law Howard Sears of Texarkana, TX. Special cousin Margie Morrison and one special friend Theartis Sasser.

Funeral services will be at 2p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Smith Chapel with Rev. Larry Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Old Town Cemetery in Lewisville, AR under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.

Visitation will be Friday, March 17, 2017 at Smith Funeral Home from
11 p.m. until 5 p.m.
