Gerald Edward "Bud" Crabtree, age 84 of Bradley, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016. Mr. Crabtree was born December 21, 1931 in Bradley to Lee and Geneva Crabtree. He was the Director for REA for 43 years and past Board of Director for the Bank of Bradley for over 20 years. Mr. Crabtree was very active in the Bradley United Methodist Church which his father helped build. In addition to farming, he owned Crabtree General Merchandise which was previously owned by his parents. He was also the past accountant for Arkansas Fuel which later became Ark-La-Gas. He also owned a warehouse for Brown Chemical and Miller Bowie Chemical Company. He enjoyed hunting, especially Quail hunting.
Mr. Crabtree was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Virginia Lee Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly Crabtree of Bradley, AR; son, Thomas Lee and wife, Donna of Haughton, LA; three daughters, Virginia Ellen Whittingon and Buddy Powell of Bradley, AR; Anna Jayne Cassell and husband, Ricky of Stonewall, LA; and Charlotte Ann Fulcher and husband, Tony of Snellville, GA; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held prior to the Service from 10-12pm Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Bradley United Methodist Church in Bradley, AR. A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm Tuesday, April 19th at the Church with Dr. John Brady officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR.
