OBITUARY

Girtha Lee Harris was born July 17, 1939 to the late James Strickland and Alene Wesley Strickland. She departed this earthly life on August 30, 2015 at Summit Health and Rehabilitation. She was married to Sammie Harris, Sr.; to this union seven children were born. Girtha was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. church in Magnolia, AR. Where she served until her health failed.

Funeral service will be Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 2p.m. at Mt. Pleasant A.M.E Church in Magnolia, AR with Rev. Roderick Thomas Officiating.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Sammie Harris; two sons Dean Edward Harris and Michael Wayne Harris and two brothers: J. C. Strickland and Lee Chester Strickland.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons Sammie Harris, Jr. (Alice) and Jeffery Harris of Magnolia, AR. Three daughters Margaret Harris and Sabrina Thomas of Magnolia, AR, Robinnette Thomas (Rev. Roderick) of Springhill, LA. Three sisters Gloria Biddle of Lewisville, AR , Lula Cooper of Dallas, TX and Bertha White of Hope, AR. Five brothers:
Sylvester (Elizabeth) Strickland and Eddie B. Strickland of Magnolia, AR, Henry (Opal) Anderson of Lewisville, AR , James Edward (Estelle) Strickland of Riverside, CA and Bennie Ray (Linda) Strickland of El Dorado, AR . Thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, September 11, 2015 from 11am until 4pm.
