Obituary

Glenda was born on September 24th, 1941 in Walkers Creek, Arkansas to Floyd and Addie Colvin. Glenda grew up with two brothers and three sisters. She attended Bradley High School and participated in athletics as a basketball player. She graduated from Bradley High School in 1959.

After graduating from high school, Glenda attended business school training in Shreveport, Louisiana. Upon completion of her business education, Glenda married Alva A. Null in 1959; they were married for forty-five years. The couple had three children: Michael A. Null, Jarrett A. Null and Nathan C. Null. Glenda excelled in the pursuits of her life as a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, homemaker and business owner. Glenda and her husband Alva were owner/operator's of Null's Grocery Store in Cullen, Louisiana from 1969 to 1984. Upon leaving the retail business, Glenda utilized her keen business acumen in her employment and assisted management of a local finance office, insurance company, an interstate bread and bakery company and a tri-state clothing chain retail store. Glenda retired from working at the age of 73, having excelled in every occupation she worked, as well as being a valued employee and a beloved co-worker by her peers and supervisors.

Glenda enjoyed working in her yard to cultivate beautiful plants and flowers such as red roses and her favorite flower: Purple Irises. She also enjoyed antique shopping, playing dominos (and she was the BEST we ever saw!), spending time with her family and friends and taking care of her favorite cat "Pooter."

Glenda was a Godly-woman and a born-again Christian in the Lord Jesus Christ who as a loving wife and devoted mother of three sons, displayed her Christian faith to them in her daily walk with the Lord Jesus Christ, resulting in the men in her family accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior; the fervent prayers of a Godly mother are powerful and their results echo into eternity.

Glenda "Bootsie" Colvin Null was preceded in death by her husband Alva A. Null of forty-five years in 2004. She is survived by her three sons: Michael A. Null of Springhill, LA, Jarrett A. Null of Surprise, AZ, Nathan C. Null, currently serving as an active duty military member overseas in the Kingdom of Bahrain and three grandchildren: Ashley and Danielle Flow of Queen City, Texas and Cecily Marlar of Waldo, Arkansas.
