Gwenon Eugene "Buddy" Thomas, age 90, of Taylor, Arkansas passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at Promise Hospital in Bossier City, Louisiana. He was born September 13, 1923 in Taylor to Lee Everett and Maud Williams Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a member of the First Baptist Church of Taylor, 32nd degree Mason with Huey Lodge #70, World War II Veteran, and a retiree of International Paper with forty-five years of service.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; wife of fifty-one years Mabel Warren Thomas; daughter Pamela Sue Thomas, and a sister, Lillie Thomas Hood.

He is survived by two sons, Richard Thomas and Ronnie Thomas and wife Beverly, both of Taylor; one granddaughter Dana Payne and husband Eric of Ashland, Missouri, one great-grandson Kaden Payne, and one brother Dale Thomas and wife Paula of Prattville, Alabama. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Taylor, Arkansas with Bro. Jerry Evans, Bro. Cleo Paul, and Bro. Randy Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at the Taylor Memorial cemetery under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Taylor.
