Hattie Simpson Burnell, 79 of Rockford, IL passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at University Wisconsin Hospital. She was born in Rosston, AR to Clyde And Carrie Simpson, Sr.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church Beautifying Club, attended school at Rosston and was a member of Harrison Chapel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Clyde Simpson, Jr.
She is survived by one son; Dorile (Gaye)Burnell, Sr. of Rockford, IL; four daughters: Barbara Burnell, Kathy (Thomas) Avery, Willa (Donnie) Blount and Jeanette Burnell of Rockford, IL; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, two god children and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation 1p.m. until 2p.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Harrison Chapel Baptist Church where Rev. Victor Morgan is the pastor. Burial will follow at Harrison Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps. www.aosmithfuneralhome.com
