Howard Nelson "Cotton" Downs, 79, of Stamps, Arkansas passed away August 16, 2022. He was born on January 23,1943 in the Mars Hill Community in South Arkansas to Clarence Downs and Lela (Phillips) Downs. Howard, known as Cotton to those that knew him, enjoyed hunting and fishing, working with cattle, and playing dominoes. Cotton loved being with his family and time spent with his grandchildren was a highlight in his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thurman "Cat" Downs, and Herman Downs.

Howard is survived by his wife, Annette Downs; his son, Michael Taylor (Mollie) of Smackover, Arkansas; daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Bradley of Stamps, Arkansas; his brother, Tom Downs (Linda) of Stamps, Arkansas; grandchildren, Clay Taylor, Morgan Hodges, Austin Taylor, Richard Johnson, Joseph Johnson; great grandchildren, Bradley, Kinsley, Kadence, Sabastian, Mason, Oakley, and Everly.

Pallbearers will be Austin Taylor, Ryan Downs, Randall Wallace, Richard Johnson, Joseph Johnson, and Bill Downs; Honorary Pallbearer, Andy Goodwin.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at A. O. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro Adam Rogers officiating under the direction of A. O. Smith Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mars Hill Cemetery.

Visitation to be held on Friday, August 19,2022 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at A.O Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, Arkansas.
