Mr. James "Papa Cool" Harper, 88, of Lewisville, AR. Passed away September 24th at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, TX

He was born May 06, 1926 in Lewisville, AR to Paul and Laura Reed Harper, Sr.

He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church in Lewisville, AR., later joined New Jerusalem Church Of God In Christ in Lewisville, AR.
He served in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two children; David and Dennis Harper, Sr., five brothers; Leon, Tyza, Louis, Hardy, and Paul Harper, Jr., two sisters; Sadie Harper and Daisy Bell Teal.

Survivors include: His widow; Mrs. Ola Harper of the home, one son; James Harper, Jr. of Highland, CA. Eleven daughters; Mrs. Linda Pree, Mrs. Evelyn Biddle, Mrs. Andrea Green, and Ms. Karen Harper all of Lewisville, AR. Mrs. Rose Brown of Buckner, AR., Mrs. Patricia Grisby of Bradley, AR., Mrs. Thelma Romaldo, Mrs. Gloria Dean Caldwell, Mrs. Gloria Jean Garza, and Mrs. Shelia Stringer all of Houston, TX., Mrs. Antoinette Harper of Texarkana, TX.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 4th , at 11: a.m. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR with burial following in the Old Town Cemetery in Lewisville, AR with Military Honors. Under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home in Stamps. Officiating will be Rev. Author Davis

Visitation Friday 11:a.m. 5:pm at the funeral home.
