James Edwin Hurd, age 85, of Lewisville, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Mr. Hurd was born March 30, 1929 in Lewisville to Edwin and Bessie Hurd. He never met a stranger and loved to visit with family and friends.

Mr. Hurd was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Mary Catherine Strange Hurd.

He is survived by two sons, Eddie Hurd of Maine and Pat Hurd of Stamps, AR; two daughters, Cathy Hurd of Lewisville, AR and Pam Lee of Bentonville, AR; sister, Dorothy Strange of Lewisville, AR; grandchildren, Tonya Adams of Bradley, AR, Troyce Storar of Louisville, KY, Katherine Marie Hurd of Searcy, AR, Michelle Lynn Perkison of Stamps, AR, Scott Hurd of Hope, AR, and Mikaila Wilson of Bentonville, AR; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
