Jennie Dean Rice, age 82, of Magnolia, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017. Mrs. Rice was born March 2, 1935 in Canfield, Arkansas to Lee and Nancy Fitzgerald. She was a member of Beacon Missionary Baptist Church in Bussey and in the WMA. Mrs. Rice loved her church and also worked on the Bussey Cemetery Committee. She deeply loved helping others especially her husband.

Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Josephine Fitzgerald; and four brothers, Roy Fitzgerald, Bruce Fitzgerald, Earnest Fitzgerald, and Troy Fitzgerald.

She is survived by her husband, James Rice of Magnolia, AR; two sisters, Dorothy Martin of Magnolia, AR and Ima Jean Ebarb and husband, Maurice of Keithville, LA; one brother, Sam Fitzgerald of Taylor, AR; special friend, Janie Goodson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Taylor, AR with Bro. Kerry Easley officiating. Interment will follow at Bussey Cemetery in Taylor, AR. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until service time at the Taylor Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Bussey Cemetery Association.
