Jessie Eugene Brantley, Sr., age 77, of Garland City, Arkansas, passed away at his home Sunday, January 25, 2015. He was born June 26, 1937 in Bodcaw, Arkansas to Farm Reece and Mary Elizabeth McKamie Brantley. Mr. Brantley was a loving father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He loved gardening, canning, cooking, and was an avid outdoorsman. Mr. Brantley was also a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a former police officer for the Texarkana, Texas Police Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Natasha Bond; two sons-in-law, Bruce Corbit and John Michael McClendon; five brothers, and three sisters.

Mr. Brantley is survived by his wife, Barbara Brantley of Garland City, AR; son, Jessie Brantley, Jr. and wife Debbie of Russellville, KY; five daughters, Delrea Kelderman and husband Kenny of Lewisville, AR, Patricia Reeves and husband Kenneth of Spiro, OK, Shella Corbit of Fouke, AR, Rena Johnson of Canfield,AR, and Sheena McClendon of Garland City,AR. Also surviving are twenty-three grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one sister, Inez Smart of Waxahachie, TX, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Friday, January 30, 2015 at the A.O. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Oliver McKamie officiating. Interment will follow at the Lower Shiloh Cemetery in Nevada County,AR under the direction of Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10am until service time Friday, January 30, 2015 at the funeral home.
