Obituary

Jessup VanDeveer Andrews, 91, of Spring Hill, Kansas passed away February 26, 2021. He was born October 8, 1929 in Roe, Arkansas to Rev. Claude Rufas Andrews and Anna Ruth Jessup Andrews. Mr. Andrews joined the Airforce, in which he was active for four years. He attended Arkansas Tech where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business. He was a member of Let There Be Light Fellowship in Osawatomie, Kansas and Vice President and Board member of Shechinah Ministries, Inc. of Kansas. He enjoyed reading his Bible and praying for people. He was a family man who delighted in talking to his children daily and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren with all his heart. Mr. Andrews loved to travel and went to Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador on missions trips. He was a volunteer teacher of ESL (English as a 2nd language) classes at the library for several years.

Mr. Andrews was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Lucille Andrews formerly of Buckner, Arkansas, now living in Kansas; son, James Andrews of Palmer Lake, Colorado.; daughter, Teresa Searcy of Tegucigalpa, Honduras; grandchildren, Jessica Ann Searcy Kmetty of Phoenix, Arizona and Sarah Suzanne Searcy of Spring Hill, KS; great grandchildren, David Maldonado, Daniel, Maldonado, Selah Victoria Maldonado, Caleb Gabriel Maldonado, Michael Searcy-Gonzalez, Christina Gonzalez.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30PM, Sunday, March 4, 2021 at Liberty Cemetery with Bro. Adam Rogers officiating. Visitation will be before the service at A.O. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps from 12:30PM-2:00PM.
