Jimmie Ray Watson, 73, of Taylor, Arkansas, passed away on July 29, 2025, in Texarkana, Texas. Jimmie was born to Alvin "Shotgun" and Clara Watson on January 30, 1952, in Taylor, Arkansas. Jimmie was a well-known painter in Taylor and the surrounding area. He painted many houses inside and outside. To know Jimmie was to love him, he was such a kind and friendly person to all.
Preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Clara Watson; grandparents; J.T. "John" and Jessie Watson and Roy and Bessie Mayfield; and his brother, James Watson.
Survived by his sisters, Martha Kelley of Waldo, Arkansas, Sherry Youngblood of Dubberly, Louisiana and Jerry Vaughn of Springhill, Louisiana; brothers, Talmadge Watson of Waldo, Arkansas, Elbert Watson of Lake Erling, Arkansas and Bill Watson of Taylor, Arkansas; two aunts, Liz Grubb of Ruston, Louisiana and Doris Hayden of Taylor, Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be a visitation Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the A O Smith Funeral Chapel in Taylor, Arkansas from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Taylor in Taylor, Arkansas with Bro. Jonathan Montgomery and Dr. Randy Wilson officiating, followed by interment at Taylor Memorial Cemetery.
Those honoring Jimmie as pallbearers will be Wayne Kennemer, Robert Disotell, Chris Joyce, Ronnie Collier, Darell Collier and Maurice Nations.
Services are under the direction of A O Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, Arkansas.
