Obituary

Jimmy Rube Nix, 80, of Taylor, Arkansas passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Springhill Medical Center. He worked for the International Paper Company. He served in the U.S. Army for a time before returning to the Taylor area and resuming his job with the paper company.

He was born in Oak Grove, LA on April 15, 1936 to Jewel C. and Clatha (Foster) Nix. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and mother of his children, Delores Ann Nix, a brother, Clifford S. Nix and a sister-In-law, Patsy Nix.

He is survived by his fiance, Ann Edwards of Taylor, AR. His children, Frankie Nix & friend Robin of Taylor, Arkansas. Rose Marie Poston & husband Tommy of Shreveport, LA. Step-son, Huey Wayne Compton and step-daughter, Wanda Renee Compton. Three brothers, Jewel Nix Jr, Bobby Nix & Sherri both of Springhill, LA. Curtis Ray Nix & Elaine of Sarepta, LA. Four sisters, Lenora Smith of Taylor, Arkansas, Susie Shelley & Wayne of Atlanta, TX, Annie Graves & Joe of Canton, TX. Carolyn Sissom & Steve of Springhill, LA.,and a sister-in-law, Joyce Nix of Springhill, La. Left to mourn his passing are several grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Taylor, Arkansas with Pastor Kree Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the Welcome Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Nix will be Monday, February 13, 2017 in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Taylor, Arkansas from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
