Jimmy L. Nix, age 81, of Stamps, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center. He was born to Andrew and Verna Bailiff Nix in Stamps, Arkansas on February 12, 1933. Jimmy was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Stamps, a veteran of the United States Army, and retired from the Texas Eastern Pipeline.
Mr. Nix was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Carala Castor, and special brother-in-law, Ronnie Watson.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Mary Nell Nix of Stamps; two grandsons, Rodney Castor and wife Kayla of Mena,AR, and Chad Castor and wife Dezzarai of Siloam Springs, AR; two great-grandsons, Hayden Castor, and Harlin Castor; one sister, Ruth Taylor and husband Harvey of Stamps,AR; Three Nephews, Drew Russell and wife Amber, Aaron Russell, and Garrett Russell; numerous other relatives, and his special dog, Punkin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with the Bro. William Willis and Bro. Ernie Sorrells officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside cemetery under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, January 23, 2015 at the funeral home.
