JoAnn Morehead Sutton, age 79, passed into the loving arms of our Lord on September 19, 2016. Born on August 23, 1937 to A.P. and Cephia Jones, the second of four children, JoAnn grew up in Lewisville, Arkansas. JoAnn along with her siblings Fred, Delliah and Brenda, grew up in a loving home and family. Service to others was instilled in each of them at an early age. Her faith was strong and the good Lord had a purpose for her life on this earth. She delighted in bringing joy to the lives of her family and friends, and will always be remembered for putting the needs of others first.

JoAnn was a woman of many talents - she quilted, sewed, decoupaged, did woodwork, crocheted, made stained glass, painted, cooked, baked and canned, and the list goes on and on. She loved working with her flowers and took great pride in having a beautiful yard. She and Dick were recently awarded Yard of the Month and proudly displayed the sign in their yard.

JoAnn and Pleasant David Morehead were married in 1952. He was soon drafted, served his country in the Korean Conflict and returned home safely. They had three daughters, Terry, Vicki and Susan, before his death in 1974. JoAnn was a florist and was the owner and operator of Stamps Flower Shop for many years.

In 1989, she married Dick Sutton in Smackover, Arkansas. With this marriage, she was blessed with the addition of a fourth daughter Cindy, her husband Mark and their three children. JoAnn and Dick faithfully served the Beech Springs Baptist Church Camp for many years. Upon Dick's retirement, they relocated to Magnolia, Arkansas and lived there until their move in December 2015 to Houston, Texas.

JoAnn was a member of Westway Baptist Church and served her Lord faithfully. She is pre-deceased in death by her parents, A.P. and Cephia Jones, her brother Frederick Jones, and her first husband Pleasant David Morehead. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Dick Sutton; sisters Delliah Cleveland (Charles) and Brenda Beene; children Terry O'Neil (Brian) and Vicki Studstill (Perry), both of Fairhope, Alabama; Susan Reede (Barry) of Camden, Arkansas; and Cindy Henry (Mark) of Cypress, Texas; grandchildren Sean and Patrick O'Neil, Benjamin Studstill, Tyler, Logan and Kacie Reede, and Ryan (Lucky), Emily (Karen) and Stephen (Sarah) Henry; great-grandchildren Beckett Reede, Penelope and Victoria In and Ryan Henry, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, AR on September 24, 2016 at 9:00am. A Celebration of Life service will follow in the Chapel at 10:00am, officiated by Brother Mike Turner. A graveside service will take place immediately following at Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westway Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.
