Mr. John T. Barnes 63, of Stamps, AR departed this earthly life on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Highlands of Stamps with his loved ones.
Johnny was born, October 18, 1953 in Lewisville, AR to the late Sarah and Johnny Barnes.

He was a member of St. James Baptist Church. He attended Foster High school, and later began a job training program at Abilities Unlimited. On May 19, 1977 he was united in holy matrimony to his loving wife Shirley Ann Russell Barnes. after attending training, he worked as a dedicated employee of Magnolia Fish Market. Johnny had a work ethic like no other. He worked for generation with the Aldridge Family. Johnny loved cleaning, gardening and watching movies with his wife. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as fishing.

He was preceded in death by his mother Sarah Barnes; father Johnny Barnes; grandparents Roosevelt and Leola Williams, uncle Terry Williams; and aunt Earline Conner.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife of 40 years Shirley Ann Barnes, one son Roderick (Crystal) Russell of Stamps, AR; three grandchildren Khalil, MaKayla, and Kylan Russell of Stamps; one brother Joe Lee (Shelia) Barnes, Sr. of Dallas, TX; two sisters Michelle Rice and Vickie Barnes of Dallas, TX. Special uncle Roosevelt (Elaine) Williams of Texarkana, AR; uncles Joe Williams of Texarkana, AR, Percy (Gloria) Williams of Garland, AR, Johnny (Edna) Williams of Lewisville, AR, Samson Williams of Toledo, OH; aunts Pearlene Sanders and Rachel Thomas both of Lewisville; a host other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Special family friends Gayle Aldridge and Alma Edmonds.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January, 14, 2017 @ 12 p.m. at Smith Chapel in Stamps with Rev. Frankie Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps under the directions of Smith Funeral.

Visitation will be at Smith Funeral Home Friday, January 13, 2017 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
