Obituary

John D. Cooper, age 54, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana.  He was born on February 14, 1964, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Loyd and Ada (Kessler) Cooper.  Mr. Cooper was the pastor at Stamps Landmark Missionary Baptist Church for 10 years.  He was the associate pastor and music director at Liberty Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA.  He was Missionary Helper at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church at Stonewall, LA. and a teacher at Louisiana Missionary Baptist Institute & Seminary for many of years. Mr. Cooper was an editor and writer for various religious publications and he loved being a sportswriter.

Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his mother, Ada Cooper.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cindy Cooper; daughter, Hilary Cooper; father, Loyd Cooper; and two brothers: Robert and Karen Cooper of Idaho, and Tom and Karen Cooper of Rudy, Arkansas.  He also had several cousins, nephews, nieces, and many friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church in Magnolia, AR with Bro. Joe Brown & Bro. Jim Crain officiating.

The honorary pallbearers are: Chris and Terry Cooper, the Men of Stamps – Landmark MBC, and the faculty and students of LMBIS.
