Joyce Lee
Allen Higdon
Jun 26, 1937 — Apr 3, 2025
Lewisville
Joyce Lee Allen Higdon, age 87, went to her Heavenly Home surrounded by loved ones on April 3, 2025.
Joyce was born June 26, 1937, in Lewisville, Arkansas and lived there as a homemaker most of her life. She was Baptist by faith. Joyce loved her Lord-Savior and showed her unfounding faith and strength throughout her life. Devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. All her titles were very special to her. Joyce was the best caregiver in sickness and in health. Her family made her very proud and cherished every moment she was with them. Friends became family. She loved making everyone's favorite dishes or desserts as cooking was her expression of love. Joyce loved babies, pets, birds and speaking kind words to strangers, sending cards to make sure you knew she cared. Her actions may have been small in gesture and performed quietly but were offered with great love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Alpha Sewell Lee.; her husband of 39 years, Jimmie Odell Allen; her second husband, H.B. "Sonny" Higdon; her son, Jimmy Lane Allen; two great grandchildren, Harley and Daphne; her sister, Linda Kirk; and her brother, Travis Lee.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Halter and husband Mike of Lewisville, Arkansas; daughter in law, Kathy Allen of Texarkana, Texas; sisters, Carolyn Stephens, Marilyn Nations, both of Lewisville, Arkansas, and Janice Tye (Charlie) of Fayetteville, Arkansas; brothers, Charles "Buddy" Lee of New Boston, Texas, and Terry Lee (Vickie) of Lewisville, Arkansas; Seven grandchildren, Matthew, Amanda, Zachary, Bryant, Tyler, Amanda and Hunter and their spouses; Eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; her Allen in-laws whom she always held close to her heart; Her favorite, Cindy Smith, special nephew T.J. Lee, her niece, Stephanie Estes that all shared their unwavering devotion and love through good times and bad; multiple nieces and nephews that she loved as her own; and other extended family and friends.
Special thanks to Summit Health and Rehab in Taylor, Arkansas and Enhabit Home Health and Hospice of Texarkana for all of their care and compassion.
Honoring Joyce as pallbearers will be Zachary Allen, Bryant Allen, Tyler Allen, Hunter Halter, Austin Allen, and T J Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnathan Bryant, Andrew Bryant, Ryder Allen, and Coleman Allen.
