LaRonda JoAnn Hollis, age 73 of Stamps, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Hollis was born July 6, 1944 in Blevins, Arkansas to Hiram and Della McCraven. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Stamps. She was a retired registered nurse from Wadley Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas and also a retired co-owner of N and L Hollis Trucking of Stamps. Mrs. Hollis started her nursing career at Lafayette Memorial Hospital where she worked until she took a position with Dr. Craig Ditsch as his personal RN. After Dr. Ditsch closed his practice, she worked at Wadley Medical Center until her retirement. She was also a member of the Stamps Public School Board from 1978-1984 and held the secretary position.
Mrs. Hollis was preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life, Nickey Lloyd Hollis; and three brothers, Lynn McCraven, Kelly McCraven and Andy McCraven.
She is survived by one son, Nickey Glenn Hollis of Stamps, AR; one daughter, Becky Barnes also of Stamps; two brothers, Travis McCraven and Allen McCraven both of Shreveport, LA; two sisters, Relda Allen of Blanchard, LA and Levornia LaFeet and husband, Joe; two grandsons, Justin Barnes and wife, Lynnette of Magnolia, AR and Nickey Lane Hollis of Lewisville, AR; two granddaughters, Bridget Haling of Doyline, LA and Courtney Barnes of Stamps, AR; four great grandchildren; and several aunts, nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR, Thomas Street location, with Bro. Mike Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Patmos Cemetery in Patmos, AR. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Smith Funeral Home in Stamps. Honoring Mrs. Hollis as pallbearers will be Chase Williams, Daniel Harrison, J.D. Stohr, Charlie Goodwin, Jerry Cheatom and Dennis Hovarter. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Hovarter and Jeremy Talley.
