Larry Edwin Colvin, age 77 of Taylor, Arkansas, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at St. Michael's Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas. Mr. Colvin was born November 4, 1937 in Walkers Creek, Arkansas to E.T. Colvin and Audrey Marie (Haynes) Colvin.
Mr. Colvin is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Colvin.
He is survived by Patsy Colvin, wife, two sons, Scott Colvin and wife, Cathy of Walkers Creek, Arkansas and Ed Colvin and wife Mitzi, of Taylor, Arkansas; two daughters, Kim and Ricky Ward of Canfield, Arkansas and Kelli and Glenn Hays of Bradley, Arkansas. His grandchildren, Heath Colvin, Hannah & Cody Smith, Colt Colvin, Lance Colvin, Shelby Colvin, Brodie & Amber Ward, Dusty & Jennifer Ward, Josh Ward, Derek Ward, Ryan & Katy Hays and Reid Hays. He is also survived by three great grandchildren; Blaize, Layla & Bentley Ward.
Larry worked at International Paper Mill for 24 years, where he served as union president and was a member of Bradley School Board for several years. After his retirement, he owned and operated Gamage Fish Camp. He was also a produce farmer, known in this area for his watermelons. Larry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed time spent with friends and family. He will be missed by all who shared in his life.
Funeral Services will be 2 pm Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Forest Grove Baptist Church with interment to follow at Forest Grove Cemetery. Bro. Todd Pickard and Bro. Joseph Stacks will officiate. Visitation for Mr. Colvin will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at A.O. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Taylor, Arkansas. Services are under the direction of A. O. Smith Funeral Home.
