Layman "Hank" Hankins Simmons, age 82, of Stamps, AR passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center. Mr. Simmons was born April 12, 1935 in Oil Trough, Arkansas to Layman F. and Devona Simmons. Mr. Simmons was a member of Stamps Church of Christ. He was also a retired route supervisor for Cintas Uniform Services and a chicken farmer. He enjoyed work, motorcycles, old farm equipment, old cars, and liked to talk.
Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Billy Edward Simmons.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Simmons; children, Cody Simmons and wife Karen, Cale Simmons, Chad Simmons and wife Tracey, all of Haughton, LA, Connie Coleman and husband Tommy of Blanchard, LA, Terry Rodgers and Martha of Ashdown, AR, Karen Matlock and husband Kerry of Plain Dealing, LA, Daniel Rodgers and wife Emily of Stamps, AR; sister-in-law, Dorothy Simmons of Princeton, LA; 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at 3:00pm, at the Sardis Cemetery, with Brother Tom Hooten, officiating. Visitation will be held at the Smith Funeral Home, Thomas Street Chapel, on Wednesday from 12:00pm until 2:00pm, prior to the service
