Lena Patricia
Pickler
Apr 10, 1944 — Dec 31, 2024
Taylor
Lena Patricia Pickler of Taylor, Arkansas, passed away at the age of 80 on December 31, 2024. Born April 10, 1944, to parents Wayne and Murrah Pickler, Patricia lived the life she wanted to live with many health struggles along the way. She graduated from Taylor, then Southern State University (SAU), and began teaching. At just a bit over four foot six inches, elementary students, particularly kindergarten, were her perfect match. Hearing problems kept her from being able to teach longer, but she was a very successful teacher. Other passions for her were Arkansas Razorback football, traveling, and her homeless cats that she cared for diligently.
She survived colon cancer three times, a heart attack, broken bones, and other effects relating to Turner Syndrome. She always said her picture should be in the medical books about Turner's because she had 19 of the symptoms.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her sister, Paula and husband Larry, of Minden, Louisiana, nephew Heath Hadwin and wife, Leslie, great nephew Jordan, great niece Cooper, and special cousins, Nora Corcoran, Mary Ann Elmore, Lee Ann Moore, Paul Edwyn Griffin, and Sam Griffin.
Special thanks to the nurses of Enhabit Home Health and Hospice and Summit Health and Rehab for their care for Patricia.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday January 4, 2025, at Taylor Memorial Cemetery on Highway 160 in Taylor, Arkansas, at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be at the cemetery for 30 minutes prior to the service. Reverend Carol Moore of Patricia's church, Taylor Methodist Church, will officiate.
If anyone wants to honor Patricia's memory with a donation, please consider CCAPS Animal Shelter, 510 W. Columbia Street, Magnolia, AR 71753 or any animal rescue of your choice.
Services are under the direction of A O Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, Arkansas.
