Obituary

Mrs. Lillie Mae Whitfield, 88 of Canfield, AR., passed away October 14th at the Springhill Medical Center in Springhill, LA.

She was born may 4, 1926 in Canfield, AR to Johnny and Georgia Allen, Sr.

She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Balaytown, AR., served as church secretary and many more capacities of the church. Mrs. Whitfield also worked tireless with the Lafayette & Miller District, serving as the first women president of the congress.
She was an honor graduate of Wells High School

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers; Lee Fred, Eugene, Aubrey, and Johnny All, Jr. her husband of 43 years, Joe Whitfield, Jr.

Survivors include: four daughters; Mrs. Deloris Leftridge of Charlotte, NC, Mrs. JoAnn Hopkins of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Mrs. Marilyn & husband Charlie Grady of Little Rock, AR., Mrs. Ruby and husband Lonnie Harris of Bradley, AR. One son; Steven and son Patrice Whitfield of Pine Bluff, AR. Twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 18th , at 3:p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Canfield, AR. With burial to follow in the Grant Cemetery in Canfield, AR. Under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home in Stamps. Officiating will be Rev. Steven Whitfield.

Visitation: Friday 12noon till 5:p.m. at the funeral home.
